These action figures may have given us spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man 2

A new line of action figures might provide some clues about who else is showing up in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. (Warning: possible spoilers ahead!)

Slashfilm nabbed some photos courtesy of Movies.com editor Erik Davis, who attended a Hasbro event in New York City where several products from the new Spider-Man toy line were on display. In addition to action figures based on confirmed villain Electro (Jamie Foxx), there were also several other villain toys on hand, namely ones based on Black Cat, Green Goblin and Carnage.

Now, it should be said that just because there are new toys for these characters, it doesn't mean they're all in the movie. But in the case of Green Goblin -- for which the toy is apparently an extreme take on the Ultimates version of the character -- we know that Norman Osborn is in the film and played by Chris Cooper.

Ultimate Green Goblin

Likewise, Black Cat's inclusion has been rumored for months, ever since British actress Felicity Jones was cast in a still-undisclosed role that has been said to be Spidey's favorite kitty.

As for Carnage -- well, there have been no whispers whatsoever about him showing up in the movie, but certain aspects of the Ultimate Marvel version of this villain could possibly be tied to the backstory about Peter Parker's father Richard and Dr. Curt Connors that was vaguely laid out in The Amazing Spider-Man. Perhaps Carnage will show up in The Amazing Spider-Man 3?

And here's an Electro figure for good measure (from Latino Review's Twitter feed):

Now again, the inclusion of these toys in Hasbro's new line does not automatically confirm their appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 next May. But do you think there's a good chance we'll get to see at least one of them?

George Miller's aborted 2007 Justice League script leaks online

George Miller’s 2007 attempt to bring the Justice League to the big screen went kaput, and now we can finally read the script for ourselves.

Dubbed Justice League: Mortal, the Miller-helmed project was a textbook study in big-budget excess that actually got within a few weeks of going in front of the camera. It would’ve starred a cast of mostly unknowns, with D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Armie Hammer as Batman, Adam Brody as the Flash and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman anchoring the dream team.

But everything from a ballooning budget to the writers’ strike knocked it off track, and we’re still waiting for DC’s greatest heroes to finally team up. So while we wait a few more years, here’s the (alleged) script for Miller’s aborted project, which has finally leaked online. Assuming it’s legit, of course.

So how is it? It’s interesting, definitely, though the subtitle “Mortal” comes off a little heavy-handed toward the end. But with some polish, it could’ve been an interesting jumping-off point.

Stephen Amell says Matt Smith would be 'hired immediately' for a role in Arrow

Can you believe his Doctor Who's Matt Smith might show up in Starling City.

Arrow executive producer Andrew Kreisber is a major nerd & geek (just check out the numerous geeky references made on Arrow and you’ll see) and a massive Doctor Who fan to.

His current goal? Most likely to nab the former Time Lord himself for a guest role on the CW's superhero drama series—according to the show’s star himself.

Stephen Amell, who stars as Oliver Queen on Arrow, told SciFiNow:

“Andrew [Kreisberg] is such a Whovian, so if you were to say to him right now, ‘Number one guest star actor/actress, who would it be?’ Clearly it would be Matt Smith."

“I can tell you that if there was even the faintest chance that he is available, he would be hired immediately. They would probably hire him to take my job, they love Doctor Who so much.”

If Matt Smith signs up for an Arrow role and i guess it may not happen before Smith finishes his run of murdering psychopath Patrick Bates in the American Psycho musical which opens in London in December, he’ll be the third Doctor Who alum to appear on the series.

The first being John Barrowman, aka Captain Jack Harkness, who’ll be back for season two. The second one is the Doctor’s wife herself, Alex Kingston, who played Dinah Lance in three episodes.

Wouldn't it be cool to have Matt Smith show up on Arrow.I would be saying it's the doctor the entire time how about you?

College Student Arrested And Charged With Felonies For Wearing Joker Make-Up To Class

Triblive News is reporting that a 21-year old Carlow University student was arrested, spent 4 days in jail and charged with 8 counts (2 being felony charges) all stemming from his wearing the Heath Ledger style Joker make-up to class.

Christian Smith was planning on attending the Pittsburgh Comicon after class that day. Campus police responded to numerous calls about Smith’s make-up and pulled him out of class. After talking with the student, he was allowed to return to class only to be approached a second time by officers who told him to remove the make-up. According to reports he spit on an officer as he was being escorted out of class and may have assaulted another officer as he was being removed from a squad car.

Carlow Officials released this statement:

“Carlow University is confident in the actions of university police in protecting the rights and privileges of the student involved and ensuring the safety of its students and the campus community. In order to protect the privacy of the student, we cannot comment further regarding internal actions taken.”

“Carlow is just completely overreacting to this,” said attorney Phillip DiLucente, who represents Smith. “We’re hoping this case doesn’t go any further in the court system, from either side.”

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 23. Smith is charged with resisting arrest, making terroristic threats — both misdemeanors — four counts of disorderly conduct and two felony counts of aggravated assault.
