George Miller’s 2007 attempt to bring the Justice League to the big screen went kaput, and now we can finally read the script for ourselves.
Dubbed Justice League: Mortal, the Miller-helmed project was a textbook study in big-budget excess that actually got within a few weeks of going in front of the camera. It would’ve starred a cast of mostly unknowns, with D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Armie Hammer as Batman, Adam Brody as the Flash and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman anchoring the dream team.
But everything from a ballooning budget to the writers’ strike knocked it off track, and we’re still waiting for DC’s greatest heroes to finally team up. So while we wait a few more years, here’s the (alleged) script for Miller’s aborted project, which has finally leaked online. Assuming it’s legit, of course.
So how is it? It’s interesting, definitely, though the subtitle “Mortal” comes off a little heavy-handed toward the end. But with some polish, it could’ve been an interesting jumping-off point.
