Stephen Amell says Matt Smith would be 'hired immediately' for a role in Arrow

Can you believe his Doctor Who's Matt Smith might show up in Starling City.

Arrow executive producer Andrew Kreisber is a major nerd & geek (just check out the numerous geeky references made on Arrow and you’ll see) and a massive Doctor Who fan to.

His current goal? Most likely to nab the former Time Lord himself for a guest role on the CW's superhero drama series—according to the show’s star himself.

Stephen Amell, who stars as Oliver Queen on Arrow, told SciFiNow:

“Andrew [Kreisberg] is such a Whovian, so if you were to say to him right now, ‘Number one guest star actor/actress, who would it be?’ Clearly it would be Matt Smith."

“I can tell you that if there was even the faintest chance that he is available, he would be hired immediately. They would probably hire him to take my job, they love Doctor Who so much.”

If Matt Smith signs up for an Arrow role and i guess it may not happen before Smith finishes his run of murdering psychopath Patrick Bates in the American Psycho musical which opens in London in December, he’ll be the third Doctor Who alum to appear on the series. 

The first being John Barrowman, aka Captain Jack Harkness, who’ll be back for season two. The second one is the Doctor’s wife herself, Alex Kingston, who played Dinah Lance in three episodes.

Wouldn't it be cool to have Matt Smith show up on Arrow.I would be saying it's the doctor the entire time how about you?

First Look: Can Arrow Tame the Bronze Tiger?

Arrow's central bow-slinger will be facing more than just inner demons when the superhero hit returns for Season 2. "Michael Jai White is playing Bronze Tiger and he is such a badass," executive producer Marc Guggenheim says of the claw-bearing killer about to rock Starling City. "His performance, our kick-ass stunt department, our incredibly talented costumer designer, and our very gifted props master...they've all combined their A-games to create a really great representation of this DC Comics character."


White will debut in the season's second episode, which finds Stephen Amell's vigilante Oliver Queen drawn into a battle of pure brawn with the Suicide Squad member better known as Ben Turner. "He's basically the best of the best, so he has come to Starling City to see if the Hood can give him a challenge," previews Guggenheim. "To that end, he has aligned himself with China White [Kelly Hu] and the Chinese Triad."

So is this guy (who is set to recur) gonna bring the kind of feral ferocity and martial-arts mayhem he's known for in the comic books? Guggenheim promises it: "If you're a fan of the character from the comics, you are going to really happy with his Arrow-fication."

Arrow's second season premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 8/7c on The CW.

Epic fan video cuts 50+ movies into greatest most epic sci-fi trailer ever

WOW when i first watched this trailer my jaw dropped i was wishing it was real.You know every sci-fi trailer these days try to play up the “epic-ness” of the story? Well, this is what happens when you take all those moments and chop them into a 6-minute masterpiece of intensity WOW.

The peeps Behind the Epic have decided to make the de-facto movie trailer of the year, and it’s guaranteed to get your blood pumping with excitment. It also makes us wonder what would happen if all these characters met in a awesome super-crossover.

They’ve included quite a list of flicks, ranging from The Dark Knight Rises to Pacific Rim to The Lord of the Rings and about everything in between.

SPOILER ALERT: Is A Flash TV Series Coming To CW Soon?

A site called Deadline reported that CW wants to get their hands on yet ANOTHER superhero TV show and this time it will be based on The Flash.

There are rumours going around that CW is getting ready to discuss the possible project at today's TCA presentation. Apparently the idea is to introduce The Flash on the next season of Arrow before giving The Flash his very own series.

The Flash would be written by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kriesberg who are also the co-creators of Arrow. Director David Nutter will most likely direct the Flash TV pilot.

The last time Flash had his own TV show was back in 1990 but the show was short lived and lasted only for 1 season.

So, all of us here at Fandom 101 are really excited about the possibilty of CW expanding the DC Universe, but what do you think?
